Hitachi Chemical Co., Ltd., acquired the company, formerly known as Mast Immunosystems, Inc., in 1996 and formally changed the company name to Hitachi Chemical Diagnostics, Inc., in July of 2000. Hitachi Chemical Diagnostics has a legacy of innovation. It was the first company to introduce a multiple diagnostic test for allergies. Improvements were made when the company introduced its chemiluminescent assay system for the detection of IgE antibodies. This strong heritage and the strength of the Hitachi brand have combined to build a strong worldwide distribution network in more than 40 countries worldwide.
